Florida is one of the two busiest destinations for car rentals in the UK. Unlike Spain, where there may be around 30 rental companies at airports like Alicante and Malaga, in Florida you will probably only be offered a choice of two companies, Alamo or Dollar. This even applies at the busiest airports like Orlando International, Miami, Tampa and Sanford. In fact, most travel agents, tour operators and many car rental agents/brokers are likely to offer you a ‘choice’ of just one of these Florida companies.

This is not to say that these are not good rental companies because they are. But is there more choice and how do you find it? The answer is that there is and it can be found on a new web-site, http://www.acarinFlorida.com. On this site you can find highly competitive Florida rates not only for Alamo and Dollar, but also for Budget and Speciality. So a four-fold increase in your options. There are some other benefits offered by Budget and Speciality as well. Both companies offer special deals for young drivers, ages 21-24. So no need to spend the $ 20 or more per day that is often required for this age group to drive. This means not only a big saving and Dad gets a break from the driving. Also, as Speciality are not on-airport at Miami, their clients are not required to pay the recently introduced tax of nearly $ 4 per day. So another big saving and the Speciality Florida shuttle service to and from the terminal is free.

AcarinFlorida.com is owned by Endless Leisure Ltd. whose Managing Director, Mark Harrison, comments ‘ it has always been a core principle of Endless Leisure to offer our clients an excellent choice. This applies to both our on-line booking sites and to our personal service brand, http://www.carhirewarehouse.com. At carhirewarehouse we also have an agency with Hertz which means that we can offer a total choice of 5 major rental companies throughout Florida. We don’t believe that anyone else can match this service in Florida.’

Endless Leisure Ltd are working in partnership with Worldwide Holiday Homes who are a UK-based independent travel company offering self catering holiday villas in Florida. Established in 2002 Worldwide Holiday Homes offers low cost and specialist holidays to holidaymakers to Florida.

TempWorks Software, the developer of integrated enterprise software solutions for the staffing industry, announced today its extended client relationship with industry leading, high-growth firm, The Plus Group. Formed in 1992 and headquartered in Lombard, IL, The Plus Group chose to utilize TempWorks across its 12 branch operation after rigorous testing in one of its most complex branch offices.

Experiencing limitations with its current software vendor, The Plus Group acknowledged the need for a system that offered both the scalability to support its business growth, and compatibility with a Microsoft environment. Not only was The Plus Group searching for a software vendor, but a technology partner who would continually offer leading edge technology, while keeping the needs of its staffing industry clients in mind.

A needs analysis and software familiarization process led to a rigorous selection procedure that involved a number of industry software vendors. Doug Boston, CFO of The Plus Group, spearheaded this initiative by starting with the complex needs of The Plus Group?s Los Alamos branch and the unique requirements needed to service a large government client. ?We needed a solution that offered not only a comprehensive front and back office, but an integrated vendor management system and web portal. TempWorks was the only vendor that could accommodate our requirements in an integrated package,? said Doug.

The TempWorks solution was largely chosen based on the demonstration of its ability to accommodate the challenging requirements presented by the Los Alamos branch, which is one of three major Department of Energy Laboratories that The Plus Group services. The special regulatory, accounting, and reporting requirements, as well as security needs, demands a feature-rich and easily customizable software solution. After a successful implementation and track record at the Los Alamos location, the TempWorks solutions are now implemented and helping to improve operations in all 12 branches throughout the country.

?TempWorks values its customers and strives to provide solutions that deliver productivity and profitability. The Plus Group is a rapidly expanding organization who sought out a partner to support its continuing growth and business operations,? says Matt Gallagher, VP of Sales for TempWorks Software. ?We are very pleased The Plus Group decided to expand its relationship with TempWorks.?

The Plus Group has long enjoyed strong relationships as the primary provider for blue-chip staffing accounts. With TempWorks, The Plus Group will now be able to provide these accounts with VMS, consolidated reporting, online time cards, and the best in resume management and other outsourced HR services. In addition to the performance improvements and cost reductions from the integrated system, The Plus Group will extend its strong client relationships to new accounts.

In the wake of the recent recalls of pistachios and peanuts and concern about the safety of food in the United States, Congress and the Obama Administration have made food safety a top priority this year. There have been numerous articles in the press about this issue and thoughts about what may be on the front burner moving forward.

To help educate and inform industry insiders and observers as is its mission, The Food Institute, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing the most up-to-date information for all facets of the food industry, will present a 90-minute webcast on food safety legislation currently being proposed by both the House of Representatives and the Senate.

“The best way to be prepared for upcoming changes in food safety is to be informed about what is happening right now,” commented Brian Todd, President of The Food Institute. “There is no doubt that some significant changes will be forthcoming from Congress and the Obama Administration, and the food industry must be aware of what may be coming down the pike.”

This program will review the significant aspects of food safety legislation currently being discussed in the Congress. The two bills getting the most attention, and likely to be the outline of future changes, are The Food & Drug Administration Globalization Act, sponsored by Representative John Dingell, Chairman Emeritus of the House Energy & Commerce Committee; Bart Stupak, Chairman of the House Energy & Commerce Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations; and Frank Pallone, Chairman of the House Committee on Energy & Commerce Subcommittee on Health; and The FDA Food Safety Modernization Act, introduced by Senator Richard Durbin, Senate Assistant Majority Leader, and a bipartisan group of Senators.

Joining the discussion will be Committee on Energy & Commerce and Health Policy Advisor, and Professional Staff Member to Representative John Dingell, Virgil Miller, and Legislative Assistant to Senator Richard Durbin, Candice Cho.
